Objective of a Research Study

Perfection of means and confusion of goals seem, in my opinion, to characterize our age “Albert Einstein”.
According to Collins English Dictionary Objective is defined as something aimed at.
Many people confuse between Goal and Objective (Goals Versus Objectives).
Goals are long term objectives.

Before conducting any research work we should have clear objectives.

How to develop your objectives?

Your objectives should be SMART. The word SMART refers to:

1- S          Specific
2- M         Measurable
3- A          Achievable or Attainable
4- R          Relevant
5- T         Time bound

Specific means clear, up to the point, and with no ambiguity.
Measurable means include figures, standards, criteria, or unit.
Achievable or in other word attainable means realistic and at the same time challengeable.
Relevant means related to the problem presented in the background.
Time bound refers to time frame of the study.
